Jesus is the Only Master

 Matthew 23:8
King James Version

8 But be not ye called Rabbi:

for one is your Master,

even Christ;

and all ye are brethren.

Why do humans and nations fall all over themselves, and step on each other, in the race to world domination, when that verse shows only Christ is the Master?

This verse supports that, too:

Matthew 23:10 (KJV)

10 Neither be ye called masters:

for one is your Master,

even Christ.

Why do we aspire to be top of the heap, when those things matter not to God at all, except what we have in our hearts for Him?

In that mad scramble to be top nation of the world, smartest person, most beautiful human being, most popular personality, richest person, most talented, most loved, we, of course, sell our souls to the devil.

Even as Jesus already freed us from the latter's stranglehold upon our lives, when the Lord died on the cross.

But it seems, the world finds the devil's offer better.

Remember how satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness?

Matthew 4:8-11 (KJV)

8 Again,

the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain,

and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world,

and the glory of them;

9 And saith unto him,

All these things will I give thee,

if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10 Then saith Jesus unto him,

Get thee hence, Satan:

for it is written,

Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God,

and him only shalt thou serve.

11 Then the devil leaveth him,

and, behold,

angels came and ministered unto him.

If you know, from the Bible, that the world was created by Jesus, and for Him, you'd laugh at the devil's nerve, and futility.

By His very examples as a man, whose heart was only after the Father, Jesus showed us how to face such temptations, and never to veer away from the Father.

Such is the Master's way of leadership.

Not of Himself, but of God.

Why do you think I follow only Jesus?
